The Union Hotel, North Sydney

Each week after I play tennis with a group of club O2 members we go to dinner at a pub in North Sydney. There are a number to choose from including the Firehouse Hotel and the Rag & Famish Hotel however we often go to The Union Hotel as it is just down the road. The Union Hotel current (Spring) menu The Union Hotel is a great pub, especially in winter with the fireplace, but also in summer as it has a nice outdoor area. They also label all the gluten free options on their seasonal menus. Throughout the year I have tried a number of their dishes including the; On Wednesday’s they also have a special, $15 mussels with a glass or house wine or beer. I haven’t found out whether the tomato based sauce they come in is gluten free yet however my friend tried these the other night and said she would never eat anything else at The Union Hotel again, so they must have been pretty good! Next time we go there I am going to investigate whether I can have the mussels minus the baguette (replaced with Veges or salad) and I will keep you updated. So if you want a good pub meal near North Sydney check out The Union Hotel, just don’t get too attached to any of the dishes as they will only last for that season when the menu will change!
