The Cupcake Bakery

I was wondering past The Cupcake Bakery in George Street (near Wynyard station) the other day thinking, ‘wouldn’t it be nice if I could eat one of their cupcakes’. Now I don’t usually like cupcakes (except the gluten free ones I make) but you tend to miss things after going gluten free just because you can no longer have them. I was trying to fill in time as I was really early to meet a friend so I decided to go into the bakery anyway, and well you probably guessed it, but much to my surprise there was a sign saying, ‘gluten free chocolate vanilla cupcakes’.

The Cupcake Bakery The Cupcake BakeryAt this point it didn’t matter that I was about to go for dinner, I had to try one of these cupcakes! I ordered my cupcake which came beautifully presented in a box and went outside to take a seat.

My boxed gluten free cupcake My boxed gluten free cupcakeMuch to my surprise I was impressed, the cupcake was not dry and tasteless like a lot of store bought cupcakes, it was moist and full of flavour.
