Vozars, Brixton Village
I was very excited to be invited to a Gluten Free Tweet Up over the weekend at Vozars, a gluten free cafe, deli & restaurant in Brixton Village. What is a Gluten Free Tweet Up I hear you asking? Well basically those who are gluten free and who are on Twitter, get together for a dinner at a gluten free friendly restaurant.Vozars was an obvious choice as not only are the entrees, mains and deserts all gluten free, they also stock gluten free beer. Though it was a cold London winter evening I started with the gluten free beer, Celia, a Czech lager. Whilst I don’t remember what ‘normal’ beer tastes like anymore I really enjoy the Celia. For my entree I decided on the bruchetta with mushroom and leek ragout. Whilst I would have preferred the bread to be a bit crispier I really enjoyed my entree. I do however regret not having the scotch egg though as it looked amazing (and I have yet to eat a scotch egg since being in the UK, well ever actually). For my main I decided on the burger which was a special dish for the day. Once again the burger was full of flavour and the potato wedges that came with it were delicious. When I go back I think I will try the slow roast pork belly (providing they still have it on the menu) and it looked amazing! For my dessert I decided on the coffee and walnut cake. I loved this dessert and did not have one ounce of menvy (menu envy). It was amazing to be able to have so many choices on a menu and I can’t wait to go back to try some of the other options. If you do head along to Vozars make sure you allow enough time to explore the village and take a jumper as you may have to sit outside (in the covered market) and it can be a bit chilly in the winter!Vozars – gluten free cafe, deli & restaurant, Brixton Village
