Fairsen puddings and jellys
In the foreword of Sue Shepherds recipe book ‘The Gluten-free Kitchen,’ it notes that Japanese grocery stores are a great place for sourcing gluten free ingredients. When I worked in Chatswood in Sydney I was lucky enough to have two Japanese grocery stores nearby which stocked some amazingly cheap gluten free ingredients including spices and gluten free flours (one of them stocked 500g bags of rice flour for 95 cents!).Once while I was at one of the stores I spotted Fairsen‘s range of puddings and jellys. The reason these caught my eye is that there was a lychee flavoured jelly and I loooooooooove lychee. So I decided to buy the lychee flavoured jelly among others.Fairsen Lychee flavoured jellyThe lychee jelly was just as good as I hoped it would be – it didn’t taste artificial and wasn’t too sweet. I also really enjoyed the yolk flavoured pudding. So if you haven’t done so already make sure you check out your local Japanese store for cheap gluten free products!
