Gluten free options in Bright, VIC
Bright is a beautiful country town in Victoria Australia. I have been there a couple of times and have been impressed with the selection of Gluten free foods. Here are the places which I found to be Gluten free friendly. River Deck Café is a cute little Café which, as suggested by the name, has a deck which looks over the river. They have a range of Breakfast and lunch options and usually stock Gluten free bread. The reason I say usually is that the second time I went there I arrived towards the end of lunch and they had no Gluten free bread left. On my first visit I decided on the turkey, cranberry and brie Toasted Sandwich and I was not disappointed – it was absolutely Delicious. The River Deck Café in Bright Le Blanche Ice Creamery has about 37 flavours overall which they rotate around. The ice cream is delicious and most flavours actually contain small chunks of the flavour. Service is friendly and the staff are very knowledge able on what flavours are Gluten free (they are all made on site). It can get very busy though so be prepared to wait in line (it’s worth it though!). Licorice and another flavour which for the life of me I can’t remember Bright Brewery When I read this post (and the comments) by a fellow Gluten free blogger it made me think of my meal at Bright Brewery. To Summaries, going to a brewery for a Gluten free meal can be a risky move! However we happened to be at the Bright Brewery around dinner time and due to the beautiful setting looking over the river (the brewery is right next to the River Deck Café) we didn’t really want to move and go and find somewhere else for Dinner. I went and Checked if anything on the menu was Gluten free and found out that they could make the nachos Gluten free by using a Tomato salsa instead of the Nachos sauce they usually use. As you can see the nachos were a bit plain, having only Tomato Salsa, sour cream and a little cheese, however they filled a hole and as I mentioned, you can’t expect too much from a Brewery! Gluten free nachos The Bright Brewery Have you had a similar experience at a brewery or has there been a time where you have been Pleasantly surprised? Sole e Luna is a modern Italian restaurant in Bright. Whilst I don’t actually remember what I ate here, I do remember that there were a fair few Gluten free options. The Restaurant is very cute and the front outdoor seating Area is beautiful on a warm windless night.
