Figs for dessert

My aunt and uncle have a fig tree at their house and last time I stayed I was lucky enough to be there during fig season. There was an excess supply of figs so we decided to pick some and have them for dessert one night. We didn’t want to do anything too fiddly and so we decided to caramelise them. It’s very easy to caramelise figs, all you need to do is sprinkle them with caster or brown sugar (I think we used brown in the end) and place them in the oven until the sugar has caramalised. We were very indecisive and couldn’t decided whether we wanted to serve them with marscapone or crackers and cheese so we decided on both! I personally preferred them with marscapone as I prefer sweet desserts. The figs were delicious and had me going back for more… and more!Caramelised figs served with marscaponeCaramelised figs with crackers and cheese
