Counter Burger Crows Nest
An old work colleague introduced me to Counter Burger in Crows Nest last year. At first I was reluctant to try it as I was an avid fan of Grill’d which happened to be across the road (and who offer gluten free buns for their burgers). However, I gave Counter Burger a try and have never looked back!I love the fact that the interior reminds you of an American burger place that you would see in the movies.Counter Burger Crows NestWhen you arrive at Counter Burger they provide you with a menu order form and a pencil. The great thing about Counter Burger is that they have a burger in a bowl option which is gluten free (as long as you choose gluten free toppings and sauce – allergen information can be found here). There are a number of different choices including the size of your burger (the smallest size is more than enough), the type of cheese, what toppings and premium toppings you want, the sauce you want and what type of bun you would like (at this stage they do not offer a gluten free bun). You can find the Crows Nest menu with all the options here.Counter Burger Crows Nest menuI always get a chicken burger in a bowl. In the past I have often gone for greek feta cheese, sweet red hot capsicum, tomatoes, grilled onions (which are absolutely amazing!!), beetroot, avocado and dijon balsamic dressing (also amazing). This time though I decided to have something different, I also wanted a less filling/healthier option as I went for dinner as apposed to lunch. I went for the chicken burger in a bowl with mixed baby greens, red onion, roasted corn & black bean salsa, sweet red hot capsicum, tomatoes, avocado and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. This salad was extremely tasty and was rather spicy (which I love!).Chicken burger in a bowl with SDT vinaigretteDo you enjoy ‘building your own meals’ or choosing from the menu?
